February 2022

Tewkesbury are currently top of the Covid table with a rate of 567 per 100,000, but Covid has well and truly been wiped off the news following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The terrible human cost of this is abhorrent. I heard on the news that there was a 40 mile convoy of Russian troops heading into the Ukraine which is unimaginable.

I was also quite shocked when I googled the history of Russian invasions (yes – I confess I don’t pay a lot of attention to the news) as to how many there have been in the last 30 years.

Other stuff

February seemed to pass in a blur of storms and appointments (thankfully no accessibility issues to report/rant).

Rupert’s vets are always really good and collect him from my car which saves me a lot of hard work. Obviously, if it was a consultation and I needed to discuss his symptoms with the vet I would assemble my chair and go in, however, when he’s having his pedicure (under sedation) I’m not allowed in the room.

Thankfully my first broken tooth has been repaired (I broke the molar on the opposite side in January!) and a temp filling put on the 2nd. It’s good to be able to chew properly again.

Although when I was having the tooth sorted, I asked for them to try without local anaesthetic – saying I didn’t like needles. As my friend pointed it out – they probably looked at all my piercings and tattoos and thought that a little strange!

Rupert’s adventures

Rupert was delighted to get a Valentine’s card from one of his lady hedgehog friends – Lady Morganite:

The 26th February was also a key day for Rupert, he joined the 100 mile Hall of Fame, in his running club, as he’s now done over 100 miles since we got the odometer!

Another of his hedge friends, Dandelion did a fab photoshop of Rupert which made me smile.

Take care

Not that there’s anything wrong/bad in anyone’s quirks or fancies! Just confirms my own assessment . 😅
