Wheels on Fire gets Inked – August 21

Mansfield is currently in pole position in the COVID charts, with a rate of 573 per 100,000. My areas has dropped down to nearly 200th (which is good for me!).

Although, Scotland have seen a noticeable rise since the school reopened, so I’m expecting England to follow suit, as the more tests = more cases found.

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger

I’ve been wanting a tattoo for a while, and had a few thoughts running through my head. I also looked at lots of tattoo artists work online too, before deciding who to contact. Obviously, had to make sure they were accessible too.

I eventually chose Adele from Skinlab who put together the design for me.

I wanted 2 butterflies to represent my 2 lovely Arabian horses – Misty and Apache, I owned them both until the end of their days, and they both took a piece of my heart with them when I had to say goodbye.

I also wanted “What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger” to be split onto the stems of 2 flowers and integrated into the design. I choose sunflowers as a reminder that the sun always rises and sets each day regardless.

Vibrant tattoo, featuring 2 butterflies, 2 sunflowers and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger
A very special tattoo which is very meaningful for me

I’m absolutely over the moon with the result.

My special accessible path

I mentioned in a previous blog, I’d complained to the local councillor about the path leading to the road to the post office.

This is the result, a new accessible path, I’m sure it will also make life a lot easier for parents with prams too:

Lovely accessible path 🙂

Saint Boy – Women’s Modern Pentathlon – Tokyo

My newfound TV license meant I could watch the Olympics! For the first time I steered clear of the main horse events, as it still stings.

I happened to put the TV on towards the end of the showjumping section of the Modern Pentathlon, and was half watching it while surfing the net, when something the commentator said made me look up.

I saw Annika Schleu in tears on a desperately unhappy Saint Boy, and watched the events unfold with disbelief.

I was so horrified by what I saw, I drafted this post. I’ve also been reading up on Search Engine Optimisation so publishing as an experiment too.

I like driving in my car

Not me – the boys! A very kind friend sent Pippin a present – a car! Pippin kindly agree to share it with Rupert too:

Wheels on Fire is officially cool!

I was out on my TriRide and saw a group of young lads aged about 12 staring at me, I cringed inwardly, then as I got closer, one of them said “is that a motorbike?”

“Well sort of yes” I replied

“That’s well cool!”
